Student Running Club T-Shirts

Sunnybrae is a K-5 Elementary School in Hamilton Township. We also house the Autistic Support K-5 program for the district. It is our goal to provide an inclusive environmnet for all students and to instill in our students a sense of pride and accomplishment in all that they do.
In September 2016 we started a student running club for all 4th and 5th grade students. We had 55 students join the club and we ran together three days a week after school. Eleven staff member and many parents functioned as the running leaders. During our practices we worked on increasing our distance and decreasing our time, proper running techniques and stretching. But more importantly we focused on building relationships and personal motivation and pride.
In December partnered with Orange Theory Fitness in West Windsor and signed up as a team to run our first 5K. We had a team of over 70 people including teachers, support staff, students and parents. Not only did we complete the race, Sunnybrae took an award in every category including the over 60 category.
In February we started our Spring session. We have now opened the club to 3rd grade students. We have 54 student runners and 11 staff members running three days a week. Our next 5K is scheduled for May.
We would love to have T-Shirts to wear when we run in the neighborhood during our practices. The school paid half of the race entry fee for our first run and we would like to do the same for our next. But, to pay for t-shirts for all team members would be a financial burden to the school. We are asking for $650.00 to fund the cost of the shirts for our team to help further a sense of community and pride in what we are doing.
