Struggling Hermano facing Depression

Donation protected
La Unidad Para Siempre Hermanos,

I do not know to say this or start this. A few days ago I attempted my second suicide.I have been sitting in my room sobbing uncontrollably wondering what the future days hold for me. I'm reaching out because I need support.

My story starts when I migrated to the U.S. at the age of 14. I overcame obstacles such as discrimination for not speak English when first arrive to dealing with PTSD after serving in the military. I have no family in the United States and I barely have any support system in place. I joined the Army right after high-school to pay for college since I never had any type of support and after my deployment to Afghanistan I have never felt the same since. I struggle finding enjoyment in thing I used to love.  I attempted my first suicide by overdosing in antidepressants. Three years later I'm here at the same spot surviving my second attempt.

some of the struggles I currently deal with are financial burdens, mourning over family death and struggling to keep up with supporting my family in Mexico. Additionally, my partner, who we have talk over a months about starting a family has left me. The only thing that kept me from hitting rock bottom, my only support system was gone. I never wanted children but she made me realize how much a family could mean since I never had time to spend time with mine. She left based on my depression regarding my financial stressors. I would constantly get sad and worry. I work hard in order to make my payments by working 2 jobs and do lyft on the side. On top of having to deal with multiple jobs, I struggle keeping up with being a full-time student with online learning and having to adjust at not having social interaction at all. These struggles had put a mental toll on myself and wondering if I could ever be enough.

I have dedicated myself to serve the Latinx community throughout the years. Every summer I work for the Migrant Education Program (MEP) that is dedicated to help farm workers to get their GED, credit recovery, and consulting services. Furthermore, I worked for the YMCA as a parent liaison connecting the Latinx community with legal services and government resources. I never get tired of dedicating my time and love to make our community stronger and better. However, at this moment I feel like I can not make an impact on my community without being able to be okay with myself.

Next month, I will not have enough for rent and all my other expenses. I am uncertain about my future. I never like asking for financial help since that's just not what I do but in trust, this time I need it. My chapter Hermanos are doing the best the can to help in every way possible but anything at this point would. I appreciate everyone who has reached out to me and giving a platform to voice my situation.

Para Siempre Hermanos.
