Stronger than a volcano: Guatemala

On Sunday, June 3, 2018, in Guatemala, the volcano Fuego, one of the most active volcanoes in Central America, erupted leaving at least 69 people killed, over 300 injured and many more missing. More than 5,000 people had to leave their homes and are on the run. Overall, more than 1.7 million people affected by the natural disaster. According to the civil protection, it was the worst outbreak of the past Years. The smoke and ash clouds rose accordingly to ten kilometers above sea level. Houses, trees and roads were covered with gray ash. Everyone is somebody's loved one and I will  do everything I can to help save and restore the lives of my fellow Guatemalans. Right now, water, food, first aid kits, protective masks, clothing and medicine are urgently needed. As well as founds for reconstruction of buildings and houses. When contributing to a cause, two things are essential for me and thus this is also what I offer to you: →Trust: I want to know the people handling my donation and make sure I can trust them. After knowing the secretary of the Honorary Consulate of Guatemala in Munich and the directors of the organization Guate Pro e.V. closely for some years, I fully trust these people to make the best use of our donation.  → Transparency: I want to be sure that my donation arrives and helps the ones in need and does not get "lost" on the way. The donations made through me will go to Guate Pro e.V. and I will make sure you get a donation receipt for it. (For donations over 30 eur) Also you can check the progress of your contributions on www.guatepro.de Together with  the Honorary Consulate of Guatemala in Munich, the foundation OttoEckart, the Foundation Michael Skopp and Guate Pro e.V. we would like to help the people of the Village Alotenango, who were severely affected by the many eruptions in the past hours. Partners of Guate Pro e.V. are already established in Alotenango and can help directly. As you probably can see from the pictures, there is still much to do! We need donations and every euro/dollar is welcome! As another project, yesterday, with the help of my awesome friends I was able in only 2 hours to raise enough to provide new boots for 22 guatemalan firemen to continue with the rescue of the eruption vicitms in Guatemala! In only 2 hours we raised 513 eur! I am confident that we can achieve this goal together and help many people with it! Thank you to everyone that supported me  yesterday with the boots fund raise!
