OUR STORY

Strapped for Danger is a feature-length comedy written with a sexy LGBT twist by acclaimed playwright Duncan Pflaster, and directed by multiple award-winning film director Richard Griffin.

Imagine Point Break meets Porky’s as if it was directed by a gay Russ Meyer! 

Writer Pflaster and director Griffin both create works that are highly imaginative and often hysterically funny. Both were looking for a project that would give them a new creative experience, yet make use of a shared passion for their craft and interests. The project will be filmed and edited completely in Rhode Island.

We have a fantastic cast that includes: Anthony Gaudette, Dan Mauro, Diego Guevara, Johnny Sederquist, Anna Rizzo, Sarah Reed, Christ Pelletier, Charlie Ferguson, Evan Clinton, Mark-Eugene Garcia, Lee Rush and many, many more.

In a time of endless remakes, reboots, sequels and retreads, what indie film really needs is to go back to school. Back to the basics. No CGI fakery, no tricks, no gimmicks. Just solid storytelling, a great cast, and a beautiful visual look. 

THE IMPACT

Scorpio Film Releasing, the production company behind Strapped for Danger, has been making feature-length movies in Rhode Island for forteen years now. In that time we have cast hundreds of actors... giving many of them their first shot at being in not only a "real" movie, but a movie that actually gets distributed!

Helping fund Strapped for Danger will continue giving many people their first shot at their dream of working in motion pictures, not only cast members... but also the hard-working and dedicated crew.

WHAT WE NEED & WHAT YOU GET!

We are currently looking at a complete budget (pre-production, production and post-production) of $10,000.00. The budget will go towards locations, costumes,  props, lighting and sound rental, cast and crew salaries, transportation fees and ... one of the most important things... craft services! Feeding twenty to thirty people three times a day really adds up! 

Thankfully, we own much of our own gear so that will help keep the costs down, plus... if we don't raise the complete 10k from GoFundMe... we have a few other sources of financing. One way or another, Strapped for Danger will premiere in early 2018!
