St. Patrick Catholic School is located in downtown Memphis in the lowest income zip code in the city - 38126.
100% of our students are on financial scholarships and 95% are on free or reduced lunch.
We have increased enrollment over the past 3 years and our test scores in Math and in Reading are on the rise. Great things are happening here!
We have a dedicated staff who love our students and push them to achieve high expectations. It is a struggle to overcome many of the hardships these children face, but our staff supports the students and their families in numerous ways.
The next step to improving the lives of our students is to improve the classroom technology. We have a plan to add SmartBoard Interactive Whiteboards to each of our 9 classrooms. SmartBoards create a more active and engaging learning enviroment and make learning fun for the teachers and the students!
The SmartBoard system includes:
- a 77 inch SDM680 multitouch board
- a mounted Epson projector
- mounted speakers
- the installation
- Smart Notebook software with 1 year of updates
- training on the equipment and software
Each system is $2,550.
The total cost of the project is $22,950. We have received a generous matching donation up to $10,000.
We need your help to raise at least $10,000 to get the matching donation and make our dream of bridging the digital divide and enriching the classroom instruction for our students a reality.
