Stop my family getting deported

Power to people

Hi,
Hope this message finds you well.
Sorry I haven't updated the page as I was busy with the exam.
Many thanks for all of your contribution in reaching the target!
This means so much for the family and to everyone else that has helped.
We have completed our fundraising target because of you!
I thought I would give you a little update on the situation.
I will also be doing a proper live chat with Peter in the next few days in a video which I will share with everyone.

So that you know and for clarity - My name is Manish Khatri. I am a full-time masters student at the University of Edinburgh.
I am currently leading this project to save Peters family from getting deported. I now work as an international officer for NUS Scotland and board member for Nepal Scotland Association who agreed to help the family.

We have met our fundraising target, what's next?

I will be withdrawing fund into one of my bank accounts. We couldn't use the charity bank account by Nepal Scotland Association as they are dealing with the earthquake and other community projects at the moment. I was given the full responsibility to promote the campaign and deal with all matters within the campaign.
Peter's family will use this bank details in the application form, and home office will take money from the account directly.
We have filled the application already!
We are waiting for GOFUNDME to transfer the money from a while now. It's important the application is sent on time. We need to ensure the money is in the account before sending application so it won't be rejected by home office as - they don't take that long to process payments.

I hope GOFUNDME will process this as soon as possible or the family will be in another trouble for missing deadline.

I have been working with peters son and daughter in various activism campaign. They are one of the nicest family that I have come across.

I want to thank you again for this kind of help.
We will keep you posted about the application status and interview with Peter shortly,!

In the meantime,
We are also running another campaign called PostStudyWorkVisaNow, so international students in the UK get to stay in the UK for two years and get some experience. Currently, they are forced to leave the UK within months of graduation despite them contributing 20.3 billion to UK economy.

Please help us sign this vital petition here:

Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. [email redacted].uk or add me as your friend on facebook as I would want to talk to many of you personally if possible: https://www.facebook.com/itsmanishkhatrii

Many thanks,
Manish

Heres the Dipnarine families story and why you should help them. #FamiliesStayUnited
The UK has been our home for almost 14 years.
It’s where we’ve lived, worked, studied and laid down our roots. But now we are being threatened by deportation that could tear our whole family apart.

We live in Edinburgh, our two daughters are Americans, and we are from Trinidad. This means that if we are deported, our daughters could be separated from us. They could be sent to the U.S. where they have no home, no friends and no relatives.

Splitting the family apart would be heart-breaking, traumatic and inhumane. My elder daughter is currently in the process of completing a degree whilst my younger daughter is in her last year of secondary school. If we are made to leave the UK, they won’t be able to finish their education that they have worked so hard for.

We’ve been living here legally on visas for 14 years, but it’s becoming increasingly expensive, and we simply can’t afford the fees. It now costs around £6,000 for the whole family, which must be paid every two and a half years when the visas need to be renewed.
Due to our visa status, the family has not been able to keep permanent jobs, which has put us in a difficult financial situation and meant we simply cannot afford to pay the visa fees this time around.

My daughters have spent more than half of their lives in the UK, and now they are increasingly being made to feel like they are illegal immigrants by the Home Office, since we were summoned to go to a police station at regular intervals. It has left us feeling worried and insecure about our futures. We have applied to have our fees waived, but the Home Office has rejected our applications several times.
