The Knights need your help in bringing out team mate Stjarni from California to Kentucky!
The Knights of Iceland have been doing educational demonstrations and performances to promote the Icelandic Horse for 20 years! Many of you may not know that we are lucky to break even with the money we make for these shows. We donate all our time, effort and horses into making this happen. We are very blessed to have the love and support of many friends and volunteers who have helped us along the way. This is something that we do out of love for the Icelandic Horse and our desire to share the breed with everyone around the globe. It is a project that we truly believe in.
We have recently gone through some changes and will not have access to a large group of horses. We have performances both in February and in April on the East Coast that require horses for demonstrations, lectures, sparkler acts, drill team and fire performances. Stjarni is highly educated in all of these aspects and is a real anchor for our team. He and his partner Laura "Lala" Benson were at the top of their class at school in Iceland and are famous for their special demonstrations on bridleless riding. The duo toured with the Knights in Apassionata, they are highly ranked together in competition, and even earned a harmonious riding award. Stjarni and Lala are also highly schooled together in classical dressage. We hope to have the two of them presenting together both at the Horse World Expo in Pennsylvania and Equine Affaire in Ohio but we are low on funds to transport him from his home base in California to our farm in Kentucky. These events do not pay much and our costs are high.
We want to promote the breed in the most professional way possible and there is no better horse for this job than Stjarni. He is talented, experienced and very personable with the crowd.
We would be honored if you could pitch in, even a small amount to help cover the transport cost of our team mate to the East Coast and help be a part showing the world how wonderful our horses are!
