Summer Splash Program for Underserved Youth
At Paddle-N-More, we believe paddle-sports belong in the hands of ALL youth. For the summer of 2019 Paddle-N-More has designed a new program!!! Stewart Park Summer Splash Program.
This new program is a specialized 2-week paddle-sports program that will be held out of our Stewart Park location. This camp program is designed specifically for youth from the Ithaca area who come from underserved households. But, we cannot do it alone!!!

At Paddle-N-More, our ultimate goal through our camp programs is to provide area youth opportunities to not just learn how to have fun on the water through outdoor recreation, adventure, and paddle-sports. Our ultimate goal is to help youth build the necessary strategies for leading a successful, independent and complete life! Research indicates that adventure and outdoor activities are a wonderful platform to build kids up!!!
Over the years, we watched many campers grow through our programs. They love our Adventure Summer Camp! They love the experience! They love to play on the water!
Not only do we watch these kids have fun, we watch many build their self-esteem and grow into individuals who are strong, smart, courageous, and motivated. There is something very MAGICAL watching children go through our camp programs. Help us create this same experience for youth from underserved households!
But, we cannot make this new program happen WITHOUT YOU! Help us share the MAGIC of our camp programs with ALL children! 
We believe our Stewart Park location is a wonderful spot to hold the Summer Splash Program. It is most accessible to those who need extra support with transportation and it is a great venue to introduce kids to the wonderful world of paddle-sports!
Our 2-week Stewart Park Summer Splash program is designed for youth between the ages of 9 and 12. The qualifying factors include needing financial assistance in their schools (qualified youth are eligible for financial assistance in the lunch program). This program will incorporate adventurous fun through kayaking and paddleboarding. Our 2-week camp will run from July 15- 19 and July 22-26, 2019. We will also incorporate fun games, art and photo contests, environmental lessons and exploration. Admittance into this program is by application/referral only. The application will be made available March 1, 2019. Please note, this program is not our normal camp programming - it is designed for youth from underserved households.
We are soooo excited to bring our summer camp programs to Stewart Park! We will be visiting area schools and teachers to actively seek out qualifying participants. Through this fundraiser, we are asking for your support! Any amount helps!

To help get the word out to the correct people, we are teaming up area schools to help identify the children who both qualify and would do well in this program. There is an application/referral process and parents and guardians need to provide evidence of their financial standing.
For the two weeks, we will place waterproof cameras in the hands of the participants so they can record their experience. We will then print the photographs for the participants and give them an opportunity to create their own scrap book to take with them! They will also receive a special Certificate of Completion so they can come kayak or paddleboard throughout the summer time through a complimentary 12-pack avid paddler pass from PnM. We want to spread the buzz and love of paddlesports!!!
Donations will help support the following:
· Printing of Parent/Guardian/Teacher Informational Packets
· Avid Paddler Educational Packets
· T-shirts that they will wear proudly
· Waterproof cameras and the printing of pictures to help document their experience and adventures
· Art supplies – participants get to design and work on a memory book that they will get to take away with them.
· Healthy snacks and food
· Paddle-sport clothing & gear kit - including water shoes, hat, sunglasses, t-shirt and shorts
· Instructor/Camp Counselor & guest instructors
· & an end of session family BBQ so kids can teach their parents how to paddle!
