Stevens Solar Splash

We, the 2019 Stevens Solar Splash team, have set our sights on an ambitious goal: winning the Solar Splash 2019 competition and becoming the international champions of intercollegiate solar/electric boating. We have been hard at work researching, designing, testing, and learning; all in the interest of this goal. The 2017 and 2018 teams have done a fantastic job and have left us with critical components, their acquired technical understanding, and competition insights that will help us to achieve this goal. We have identified the most impactful technical areas for improvement and are moving forwards with technical analysis, core research, new designs, and test and evaluation to improve our competition platform. We will be working to increase the available power to our motors, modify our propulsion system to get more efficient power to the water, and decrease overall boat weight.

We take great pride in our ability to utilize our engineering knowledge and skills to address these technical and design challenges and manage our complex project, but we cannot achieve our goals alone. We need support. The necessary materials, equipment, manufacturing, tools, on-water practice, and travel are all very costly.

Our fundraising goal is $5,000 by the end of May 2019! All funds raised will be used to pay for parts, tools, equipment, manufacturing, and travel expenses. Any level of support is greatly appreciated and extremely helpful.
