Stephanie's Medical & Healing Fund

Friends, one of the hardest things in life is asking for help, which is why Stephanie has waited so long
and I have decided to do it for her. She has struggled  for such an extended period, I would like to help alleviate her stuggles.

Stephanie believes through our struggles God teaches us valuable lessons and her lesson for this struggle is to let go of her pride and put her story out there with hopes that it will touch someone and she can get the help she so desperately needs. What Stephanie has been through the past two years has been harder than imaginable. If any of you know Stephanie, you know she always tries to look at the positive aspect of life, even when life gets hard.

After months of emotional, verbal, and physical abuse, Stephanie left her now ex-husband in September of 2014, taking with her only the clothes she had on her back. She was in a complete panic about what to do or where to go. She had spent so long defending him, finding excuses forhis actions and the way he treated her, telling friends and family what was really going on meant no turning back.
Stephanie was homeless from late October 2014 to the end of February 2015, staying first at a short-term domestic violence shelter and then with friends from church and work. The injuries she sustained because of his attack the night before she left rapidly became more serious. The trauma severely aggravated a condition she was born with called spondylolisthesis, and the pain was unbearable.  In late May of 2015, Stephanie was facing a serious spinal operation that consisted of three different fusions of her lower spine, including cages, bone taken from her body to rebuild new disks, a fusion of the bones that wrap around the spinal canal, along with rods and screws being placed in her spine. Her vertebrae had slipped almost out of her spinal canal and the amount of fractures in the area were too high to count. The nerve roots had been cut off from the vertebrae slipping so far out of place. She had to learn to walk again and had to do it alone with no family around to help. Stephanie had to learn to walk again, bathe, get dressed herself, and all daily activities have had to be learned and altered.

Her recovery has not been an easy one with several setbacks along the way, including a fall, an infection, and a car accident all in relation to the spinal reconstruction.
Months after the spinal operation Stephanie had another unexpected event occur which was acute
appendicitis. She was rushed into emergency surgery for an appendectomy.  Last week, something else unexpected as Stephanie was rushed to the hospital for another emergency surgery. There they found multiple abdominal adhesions and removed them. They found one larger adhesion at the site where the appendix was clamped which was causing a bowel obstruction. .

Stephanie was denied from disability, and because she is a full-time student she does not qualify for government assistance. The money from her scholarship from school only pays for classes, not even books let alone money to take home. Sadly, Stephanie has been living off food banks for more months that she can count. She still feels miserable from the surgery last week, running high fevers, been back to the hospital and has serious restrictions. Her restrictions are set to last 8 weeks if there are no more complications.  She had a job lined up to start last week but with this emergency surgery she and unable to do that specific job.

Complicating the healing process even more, Stephanie is now at risk of facing an eviction along with thousands of dollars of medical bills and other living expenses; She is at a serious loss for what to do.

This is a hard time of the year for many but if you are considering donating to any charity please
consider donating to Stephanie to alleviate this stress of losing her home on top of helping her with bills that increase daily. Becoming homeless right now is not an option for a variety of reasons, the main one being
Stephanie cannot pack her place and move due to restrictions and inability to lift. On top of that it would add additional stress towards her already long road of recovery.

Many friends suggested she do a go fund me account after she left her ex-husband in October
2014 she refused saying she could do it on her own. Sadly, to all the obstacles and additional
surgeries she can no longer do it on her own, which is why I am asking you to find it in your heart to help her.

Stephanie has not wanted to share her story with the Face Book world and has needed help for quite some time especially now given her current circumstances. Her fear is that she will tell her story on Face Book and no one will donate to her fund. Friends, let’s put Stephanie’s mind at ease and donate for her. Any amount will help and I am sure when she can she will help you during a time of need.

If  you can’t donate now Stephanie is asking for prayers and recovery. For this to be the end of a long stream of medical illness, for her to heal completely and can return to work and a normal life.

Her humble request for your support to help lift these financial burdens will allow Stephanie to focus on the healing she desperately needs.
Thank you so much for your time, prayers, and generosity.
