On Friday, March 30th 2018 we were riding Jordan’s motorcycle when we were hit by a car that illegally cut across 4 lanes of traffic. The driver had no insurance at all. We had a fun date night planned; we were riding towards Downtown Raleigh to our first stop of the night: fried pickles at The Raleigh Times.
What should have been a night filled with lots of laughter, good conversation & food, nice weather & a fun ride quickly turned into the most tragic nights of our lives. Instead of having full stomachs at the Raleigh Times, we laid on Wake Forest Road, both with numerous fractures & wounds.
Between both of us, there were two broken pelvises, 4 damaged vertebrae; fractured: forearm, fingers, wrists, elbow, foot; a gigantic leg laceration, numerous other scrapes, displaced bladder, a concussion & immeasurable emotional & psychological trauma.
We spent 5-6 days in the Wake Med ICU, 1.5 weeks total in the hospital and were then transferred to the Brian Center Nursing/Rehab Facility to heal & start physical therapy.
We discussed creating a GoFundMe page and initially agreed to not start one. We wanted to handle this on our own and are not the types to ask people for money. We changed our minds after numerous people have asked us and our family members how they can support/donate to us...so here we are. All donations will be split evenly between us, we’re not creating separate pages...we’re on this journey together.
We cannot thank you enough for the support we have received through prayer, positive vibes, energy & thoughts, visits, texts, calls, ALL OF IT. You have no idea how much all of this means to our recovery. Thank you in advance for contributing to us through this page, it is greatly appreciated!
