Stem Cell Therapy for Pulmonary Fibrosis

Donation protected
Hello! My name is Charlene Joy and I have Pulmonary Fibrosis. I am not a smoker and the biopsy showed that the disease is not caused from any other disease. I am on 2 L of oxygen now which is considered in the moderate stage of the disease.
I have had severe allergies and Asthma for the last 30 years of my life. I was on a weekly allergy shot for 5 years, prescription antihistamine, two types of nasal sprays, two types of inhalers, allergy eye drops, and  Benadryl  at night in order to breathe. I also was on a diuretic for blood pressure. It is my belief that my condition is do to too much antihistamine that has dried up the muscles of my lungs. This can not be proven medically until an autopsy is performed and is why I have signed paperwork with Barnes Jewish Hospital to have my body for research following my death.
I have talked to  the Lung Health Institute about stem cell therapy. Since my PF is not due to smoking or another disease and because it is not too far advanced, I am a perfect candidate for the treatment. Unfortunately it will not be covered by insurance because it isn’t approved by the FDA. They have an 85% positive response rate. How positive depends on how advanced your disease is. I am considered in the moderate stage since I am only on 2 L of oxygen but that can change very quickly so I need to do this sooner than later. I need to come up with $10,500. There are 5 clinics in the US that are accredited with the Joint Commission in order to perform these procedures. Nashville is the closest to me. It would be a 2 day outpatient procedure so I would have to get a hotel room overnight. The fist day they draw my blood and put it through a centrifuge to separate the stem cells. The next day they will put the stem cells into the effected tissue of my lungs and I will then be released to go home. I can expect to feel some results as soon as 2 weeks but may take as long as 3 months to feel the maximum effect.
I am a strong Christian and God has healed me of many things in my lifetime.  I have always given him the glory and have committed my life to do God’s will and have done so since my salvation in 1974. I was a military wife and volunteered to serve God wherever my husband was stationed in whatever capacity He deemed necessary. He has kept me pretty busy. I am in the process of writing a book of the lessons he has taught me through the trials that have come my way and how he has used those trials to strengthen my faith for something as big as this disease. Whatever the outcome, I will glorify God because I can not lose with God by my side. He will never leave me nor forsake me. He has proven that to me more times than I can possibly count.
May God bless those that are able to give financially and those that are only able to pray. Your compassion will not go unrewarded. Thank you.

In Christ,
Charlene Joy
