State Tech UST Food Bank Fundraiser

The Good Shepherd Center is a food pantry in Linn, MO. It services the greater part of the Northeast side of the state. Over the past several years, they have provided meals and food to 10’s of thousands of families and ministries in the area. With the support of their overarching organization, “The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri,” they have provided this service with the help of volunteers, priding themselves with the ability to turn a $1 donation into $21 in groceries. They are the only organization in Missouri to provide groceries and food to other organizations and programs free of charge. Recently, The Good Shepard Center has been struggling. With an increased need for food, less volunteer help, and donations slowly trickling in, they are in the best terms struggling. With the help of this class and GoFundMe, the goal is to raise $1,000 to support the food bank this Christmas season. In addition to the support of the food bank, half of the proceeds will go to the State Tech Food Pantry, which services struggling students at the college. It will also help the State Tech Student Emergency Fund, which helps students who are in need of financial aid due to unforeseen circumstances. This fundraiser is being organized by the Utility System Technician Class of 2020. Our goal is to raise $5,000 by December 3rd.
