Organic Non-profit start up fund

We are in the process of starting up a nonprofit organization with the goal of educating the public of the importance of organic, whole food, plant based diets and agricultural practices. Our organization plans to achieve this goal by creating and distributing informational pamphlets, assisting and establishing school and communal gardens, hosting and attending public and private events, cooking demonstrations, instructional videos and distribution of meals. The organization plans to begin operations in our immediate area of Southern Georgia and expand to the surrounding areas and across the country as funds become available to do so.
Who we are and why we are starting this nonprofit; Four years ago, a friend invited us to watch a documentary on our food system. Even though we thought we lived a pretty healthy and active lifestyle, this was a huge eye opener. After extensive research, we found that we no longer felt safe feeding ourselves and our children food grown using modern practices. We also found that the agricultural practices used raising meat are not only often undesirable conditions for the animals but also unsustainable and completely unnecessary for human nutrition. There are many misconceptions surrounding meat, egg and dairy consumption and organic vs conventional and GMO farming . We know that most people do not realize these misconceptions and decided we could not stand the idea of letting others go without this information. Now that our family has been veganic, we have seen a dramatic increase in energy and overall better health and we feel by starting this nonprofit we can help people, animals and our environment by promoting healthier lifestyles and more sustainable practices.
In order to start this organization, we are needing to raise the necessary funds. This includes the costs of filing the articles of incorporation, public notification costs, filing fee for the IRS 501c3 application, a business phone, computer, website fees and administrative supplies. We hope to start this organization as soon as the funds are available to do so and will keep updates as progress unfolds.
