Start of life and end of life

After a lifetime of avoiding exercise, 2018 has seen me training up for the Burren Marathon in Co. Clare at the end of May - walking, not running, not this year anyway! I'm also hoping to raise a few euro to go towards the enormously valuable work carried out by these two organisations, both of which have a special place in my heart:

NISIG, the National Infertility Support and Information Group, is a small voluntary organisation which provides much needed support and advice for people who face infertility, as well as advocating at a national level for legislation, regulation and support. I found invaluable help here in the past, and I volunteer with NISIG now as a group facilitator.

Our Lady's Hospice and Care Services, Harold's Cross and Blackrock, at the other end of life's journey, is an organisation to which I will be forever grateful for the wonderful care they gave to my Dad during his final weeks. The care of the Hospice staff enabled us to simply be Dad's loved ones, without the responsibility of managing his care and medication.  Words which come to mind when I think of their work and service are dignity ... compassion ... gentle ... respect ...

So, I would like to see if my efforts in the Burren might help these two wonderful organisations in their work supporting others in need. If you feel like sending a € or two in the direction of this page, then I will with grateful thanks send it on to them.
