Standing by Roger and Gail

Roger and Gail Johnston are two of the most generous and loving people. They are always there for others and will open their home and hearts when needed.
Currently, they are having some financial difficulties due to a medical emergency. In November of this year, my father in law, Roger, who has diabetic neuropathy, suffered a terrible infection in his left foot. Because of this infection, sepsis and septic shock set in and he was rushed to Duluth for emergency surgery to amputate some toes on his left foot. He then recovered in the ICU with massive doses of antibiotics for 9 days. He also had a stroke during this recovery period, which affected the left side of his body and speech.
Unfortunately, due to gangrene, his foot was not able to be saved. So, Gail and Roger had to make the hard choice to have the entire foot and part of the leg amputated.
Gail and Roger are owners of the East Range Shopper in Aurora, MN, and this emergency has made an impact there. Additionally, Roger has so far lost about a month and a half worth of work at the at Mesabi Daily News, where he works to make ends meet. He will be in in-patient rehab through the end of the year, then three times a week. He will eventually get a prosthetic and will learn a new normal.
In the meantime, they need some assistance. They just had a ramp put up at the house, but of course that costs money as well.
Please help Roger and Gail this holiday season.
