Stand with Make a Chess Move
Make A Chess Move (MACM) is a grassroots organization that uses chess as a synonym for life: make your next move your best move. On Saturday, July 21st MACM held its annual luncheon to raise critical funds to support the organization's work. The event was a success, however, on Saturday evening the Executive Director's car was broken into and all of the donations were stolen.
As a start-up organization, MACM relies on every single dollar raised to run programs and pay youth leaders. The community has the capacity to dig deep and replace these donations! This is what we ask our youth to do every day – keep moving toward your goal, even when you have setbacks.

More About MACM:
MACM programs serve youth in Denver's urban core with the goal of developing tenacious learners, compassionate leaders, and critical thinkers. The organization is led by Phillip Douglas, who has been working with youth in Northeast Denver since he was a 14-year-old freshman at Manual High School. He has 20 years of experience working with young people that share many of the struggles he experienced growing up in the neighborhood.
At the core of MACM is a team of youth leaders and program facilitators who have grown up in the neighborhoods and attend the schools served by the organization. These young people's lives have been saturated with the systemic injustice. However, their intelligence, compassion, and grit have somehow survived.
Today, we can stand with MACM and these young leaders to replace the stolen donations and encourage them to continue this important work!
