Rescue Vehicle Replacement

2018 brought many challenges to PurrHaven, Inc.  We saw an increase in the demand for our services.  We saved more lives and gained more followers.  But the first week in March 2019 handed us one of our toughest challenges.  The  cats lost their only source of transportation after the transmission in our  rescue vehicle , a VW Wagon, died suddenly after 261,000 miles of service.

Our rescue vehicle carried cats safely to spay/neuter clinics, rescue kittens to their new adoptive families,  sick cats to the emergency vet and pet food donations to our pop-up pet food pantry.  Each trip often averaged well over 100 miles.  Without a rescue vehicle, the TNR Program and Adoption Program are at a standstill.  Trapping and clinics dates are scheduled to begin this month so we must move quickly to find the funding for a vehicle.

$3,500 will fund the purchase of a reliable used station wagon/SUV type vehicle  that will be large enough to carry 12-14  cats in traps.  Any funds in excess of this amount will go towards the purchase and installation of a rebuilt transmission for the original rescue vehicle to use as a back-up. vehicle.

Purrhaven, Inc. sponsored over 1,000 feral felines through their Trap Neuter Return Outreach Program since 2010.  In 2018, we started a pop-up pet food pantry to prevent cats and dogs from going hungry and sponsored 110 South Washington County feral cats into our TNR program.  If there is a chance to save a cat's life we take it.

We hate asking for help, but the reality is it is absolutely vital to replace this vehicle.
