My name is Kristell Foss, and my husband, Eric Foss (age 32), and I relocated to Utah in June 2018, departing from Texas to pursue career opportunities in the fitness industry.

Eric's passion lies in mentoring young tennis enthusiasts, earning him immense admiration from his clientele.
Regrettably, Eric's presence at work has been limited due to unforeseen circumstances. On November 5, 2018, Eric received a diagnosis of testicular cancer. A sizable tumor, approximately 8 centimeters in diameter, was detected in his abdominal region, necessitating urgent surgical intervention. Subsequent examination revealed the cancer's infiltration into his lymph nodes, resulting in a diagnosis of stage 2 testicular cancer. Medical professionals emphasized the imperative of chemotherapy, asserting that without intervention, Eric's prognosis was dire, with a prognosis of 8-12 months.

Devastated by this news, we sought treatment from a physician in Utah, who recommended a 12-week regimen of chemotherapy. The treatment protocol entails one week of intensive intravenous chemotherapy sessions, followed by a two-week respite to allow Eric's body to recuperate, and this cycle is repeated. However, our hopes were shattered on the first day of treatment when medical scans unveiled the presence of seven additional cancerous tumors in Eric's lungs, prompting a reclassification to stage 3 testicular cancer.

While medical professionals cannot ascertain the precise etiology of Eric's condition, they speculate that the cancer may have been dormant for an extended period. Eric recalls a childhood incident wherein he sustained a blow to the testicles during a baseball game,
with a visit to the emergency room.

Despite experiencing sporadic episodes of swelling over the years, medical consultations failed to yield substantive insights into his condition.
This ordeal has inflicted profound emotional turmoil upon both of us. Despite outward appearances, I often find myself teetering on the brink of sadness and the unknown. Though I always have faith and believe everything is for the greater good, it’s not easy to watch someone go through this when you can’t do anything to stop the pain. Eric's resilience, however, serves as a source of inspiration, even though the toll of cancer treatment has compelled him to pause his professional commitments. Cancer's relentless assault has left him fatigued and debilitated, yet he endeavors to maintain a positive outlook.
Navigating through uncharted territory, we are confronted with an uncertain future, fraught with apprehension. I quit my job and took the role of caregiver, striving to alleviate Eric's burdens and ensure his comfort, because that’s all that matters. Financial concerns are heavy, and at the same time it’s not important at this time, but in our hour of need, we appeal to your compassion and generosity. Your assistance, whether financial or through advocacy, would alleviate our burden and provide solace amidst adversity. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who stand in solidarity with us during this trying time.

Warm regards,
Kristell Foss
