Hello, My name is Sicanni. I was born and raised in Peru and I have been fortunate to live in the USA.
My mission as I have done for the past several years is to provide the poor children and families living in remote villages in Peru with a joyful Christmas holiday.
There is a tradition in Peru called La Chocolatada. Friends and families gather together for celebration of Christmas. We drink hot cocoa eat poultry and a traditional bread called panettone. We also share in music, dancing and gift giving. There are many, many poor children and families who are not able to share in these traditions because they do not have the money.
Here is where people like you and I come in. Every year I raise money, send it to Peru and my family and friends buy presents, make big batches of hot cocoa and serve panettone. Poor children and families will attend to receive food and presents. This is the time of year the children look forward to most. A time to receive a new toy that they will treasure for the whole year and play with until next year when we celebrate again. The joy and love these children feel knowing people are out there thinking of them gives them hope for a better tomorrow.
This year I am going back to Peru and will be part of the Chocolatada's. Buying and wrapping presents, cooking and serving food. Speaking with and playing with the children. I will be playing music for them giving them hope and encouragement to follow their dreams. For I was once like them. A poor child of Peru.
Please help me meet my goal of $2,000. Everyone who contributes their name is put onto a poster so the children see who donated the money. They will see that many people from around the world love them.
