Sara's Fight against Cervical Cancer Round 2
Our dear sweet friend Sara Quitta is fighting a round of recurring cervical cancer. Last year, Sara aggressively fought it at MD Anderson and had her first clean PET scan in October 2016. After treating a blood clot in December 2016 and an emergency appendectomy over New Year's, Sara was soon informed of a recurrence. As many of you may know, recurrence of cervical cancer can have trying pain and symptoms. According to the leaders in cervical cancer treatment, there is no known cure for recurrence. Sara talked to the Head of Clinical Trials at MD Anderson and was not accepted into any of the trials recommended for her. She was either not a candidate because of the blood clot, or because she was bed ridden over 50% of the day.
Those that know Sara Quitta can rally that "Quitta is No Quitter!" She has a great outlook, is remaining positive and ready to fight--- we are asking for prayers, support, and donations to help fund this fight.
Donations are needed to help offset her expenses and medical bills, which continue to increase as she explores alternatives to chemotherapy. With the limited treatment choices, Sara has decided to seek alternative care, which comes with a hefty price tag that insurance typically does not cover.
