Ronald McDonald House Charities is a not for profit, non-government funded charity which helps to keep families close together when a child is sick. This is done by providing shelter to families who sometimes have to travel hundreds of kilometers to a hospital while their children are critically ill.
Most of these families still have mortgages or rent to pay, other children to feed and school and jobs which they can't go to, so RMHC makes this difficult time a little bit easier by supplying accommodation free of charge to the family, within walking distance to the hospital, and for a majority of the time at short notice. The stay can be from days to months to years.
This christmas we want to do a little bit to help, and our contribution of $2000 can provide a family with accommodation for almost 3 weeks.
We can sometimes take for granted the little things that we have, but it's time to think about the families who won't be home for christmas, but instead sitting in a hospital room with a child who is ill.
Any donation is welcome and if you have any more questions please don't hesitate to talk to your restaurant manager about the charity and what a massive amount of difference this will make for the families staying in the house.
Fundraising stops on the 14th of December, so please donate if you can.
