Spinal Surgery for Jesse Barmann

This is Jesse. He is my best friend and the love of my life. He is one of the kindest and most generous humans I have ever known. He is the guy everyone calls when they need help, because he is always there and willing to help family, friends, or even strangers. But now he is in need of some help. He has serious damage to his spinal column from years of working a lot harder than he should have and ignoring his physical limits. He has been in a lot of pain for several years, and is now losing strength and some use of his arms. He has finally seen a neurosurgeon and confirmed that the damage is extensive, and surgery is needed, or he can expect to lose the use of one or both arms, possibly within about another year. The surgeon gave us an estimate of $14,000 for his portion alone. There will be other bills from the hospital, as well. Jesse has been self-employed for most of his life, and has no health insurance at this time. We have things we will be selling to help pay for this procedure, but we are going to need some help, as well. He will be unable to work for several weeks while he recovers, and that will also be a tough time for us. The surgery has been tentatively scheduled for Sept. 11th, so we will need to pay the surgeon's fee by then. If you know Jesse, you know what an amazing person he is.
