Spencer Newman's Davis Cup Fund

Hi Everyone,

I have an opportunity of a lifetime. I have earned a spot on the team to play Davis Cup for the Bahamas and desperately need your financial help.

 

Playing Davis Cup is among the highest honors any tennis player can receive. I have wanted to be a professional tennis player my entire life. It would truly be a dream come true.

 

I am a dual citizen of the United States and the Bahamas. From the ages 14-17, I trained at the high performance junior development at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in Boca Raton, FL.

 

I then attended the University of Florida where I played for the Men's Tennis Team. I recently graduated from UF with a Master’s in Business Management.

 

I currently live in Miami where I’m starting a career in real estate and I coach tennis part time at TENNIS305 to make ends meet.

 

In order to be eligible to play Davis Cup, I must repay my $27,400 grant I received for junior training, to the USTA in order for the USA to release me to play for the Bahamas.

 

This year, the Bahamas will be playing in La Paz, Bolivia on July 11th. It is important to note that the team roster must be submitted by June 9th and that is my deadline.

 

Any financial help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. $5, $10, $100, it all adds up. If I exceed my goal, the rest of the monies will be donated to the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA).
