Help Athletes with Disabilities

I am the head track and head coach at Southeast High School in Springfield, Illinois. Part of my philosophy as a coach is to give opportunities to students that may not have had many opportunities in the past. Track and field in Illinois is giving students with disabilities the chance to compete with their peers. With that being said, my hope is to raise funds for this track season, to purchase one female and one male racing wheelchair. These racing wheelchairs would be used by two of our students that have a disability and are unable to compete in track and field without the use of the wheelchair. A good, quality racing wheelchair would set a family back roughly $2900 (most of our families would not be able to afford this cost). Funding would also go towards racing helmets, gloves, and other general upkeep of the wheelchairs. Southeast High School has had a historic past as both the men's and women's programs have produced state champion as well as team champions. Please consider supporting our program to offer our students with disabilities the chance to compete.
