Hello, fellow space enthusiasts!
We are the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space - Arizona State University (SEDS-ASU) chapter. We are an on-campus club dedicated to providing our student members with opportunities to get involved with the aerospace industry through talks, tours, and conferences. With one of our central tenets being engaging the public in science through outreach, we have reached an estimated 2500 people in the past year through outreach events
Each year, SEDS chapters across the nation compete to host SpaceVision through a process of written and oral proposals, and an organization-wide vote. SpaceVision is the only student-led space conference in the nation, with a different host chapter proposing, organizing, and executing the conference. This years conference, Spacevision 2018, is being held by the University of California - San Diego (UCSD), making it feasible for our chapter, located in Tempe, Arizona, to attend. This conference will provide our students with the amazing opportunity of networking with industry professionals, as well as attending talks, lectures, and workshops led by leaders in the aerospace industry.
Another one of our motivations for attending SpaceVision 2018 is because our chapter was selected as a co-host for SpaceVision 2019. Most of our planning committee has not had the chance to attend a SpaceVision conference before, meaning that the opportunity to attend one would provide the committee with valuable insight into the process of hosting the conference.
We would like to send five of our members to the conference this year. We decided to set up this GoFundMe to help with the costs of lodging and the tickets for each of these members (listed below). Anything you can contribute (whether it be a donation, a like, or a share) helps us to achieve our goal of sending our members. Thank you so much for the consideration!
