South Africa on the way to the World Equestrian Games in Tryon (USA)

Chelsey Gertenbach, 22 years old, born in South Africa and grown up with horses. Involved in Vaulting for over 15 years, she now faces one of the biggest challenges of her life.
What could be greater for any athlete than to compete at the most important competition in the world? For vaulters this competition is the World Equestrian Games that only takes place every four years.
It is an amazing opportunity to be able to take part – Chelsey has been preparing for this for the last two years and in April this year at the CVI in Ermelo she achieved her qualifying score for the games. Then on the 20th of June came the official letter from the Vaulting Association of South Africa stating that she has been selected to represent her country in Tryon.
Chelsey is currently living and training in Cologne (Germany) in order to optimally prepare for the games. Not only does her potential horse live here but also the best coaches and lungers to provide the best training conditions.
The World Equestrian Games 2018 takes place from 12. – 23. September in the USA, more exactly in Tryon, North Carolina.
A far journey, which has many high costs associated to it. Costs that need to be self-financed by the athletes from South Africa.
To finance this we are faced with a great challenge – especially the costs of the horse transport. For this alone we have calculated approximately 15.000,00 €.
Further costs include flights, accommodation, rental car, meals, fees etc.
To make this journey a possibility we are relying on your support. We really appreciate every donation towards getting this young athlete to the US!

Für Südafrika auf dem Weg zu den Weltreiterspielen nach Tryon (USA)
– mit Ihrer Unterstützung wird der Traum Wirklichkeit -
Chelsey Gertenbach, 22 Jahre alt, geboren in Südafrika und aufgewachsen bei und mit Pferden. Dem Voltigiersport seit über 15 Jahre verbunden hat sie nun eine der größten Herausforderungen ihres Lebens vor sich.
Denn was gibt es für einen Sportler größeres als einmal am wichtigsten Turnier der Welt teilzunehmen? Bei Voltigierern sind dies die Weltreiterspiele, welche nur alle vier Jahre stattfinden.
Es ist ihre große Chance dort teilzunehmen – seit über zwei Jahren bereitet sie sich intensiv darauf vor und hat im April diesen Jahres auf dem CVI Ermelo die erforderliche Qualifikationsnote erreicht. Am 20. Juni folgte dann die offizielle Bestätigung seitens der Vaulting Association of South Afrika.
Damit ist Chelsey die einzige Teilnehmerin Südafrikas bei den Voltigierern.
Chelsey wohnt und trainiert aktuell in Köln (Deutschland) um sich dort optimal auf die Spiele vorbereiten zu können. Denn hier lebt nicht nur ihr potenzielles Pferd, vielmehr findet Sie neben guten Trainern und Longenführern auch beste Trainingsbedingungen vor.
Die Weltreiterspiele 2018 finden vom 12. – 23. September in den USA statt, genauer gesagt in Tryon, North Carolina.
Eine weite Reise, die mit hohen Kosten verbunden ist. Kosten, die von den Sportlern aus Südafrika selbst finanziert werden müssen.
Die Finanzierung stellt uns hierbei vor eine große Herausforderung – dabei besonders die Finanzierung des Pferdetransportes. Allein hierfür kalkulieren wir mit 15.000,00 €.
Weitere Kosten wie Flug, Unterkunft, Mietwagen, Verpflegung, Gebühren etc. werden selber getragen.
Um Chelsey diese Reise zu ermöglichen sind wir nun also auf Eure Unterstützung angewiesen. Wir freuen uns über wirklich jede Spende, um der jungen Sportlerin die Teilnahme in den USA zu ermöglichen!
