Sound Check Bar & Grill

in Lynnwood, WA  last December as a place for people in the Northend to gather and enjoy Live Music, Dancing, Quality Food (scratch kitchen) and Craft Cocktails in a clean and safe environment. Rapid growth during our first five months of operation have shown us that there is a demand for such a venue and people regularly thank us for having opened our doors.

However, we have learned that it takes time for a new restaurant to turn the corner to profitability and Sound Check is no exception.  We put everything we had into the remodel of the space prior to opening. It took longer and cost more than we had planned, which left us with little to no capital to cover losses during this first year.

Aware of our need, behind the scenes we have been searching for additional capital for quite some time. However, we have yet to locate sufficient resources to carry the business through to profitability. Unfortunately, financial institutions do not look fondly upon new restaurant/bar businesses, so our ability to borrow from traditional lenders (SBA or otherwise) has been greatly limited. Meanwhile, our landlord, the tax authorities, utility companies and other third parties are willing to wait only so long to be paid. Interruption of our business is quickly becoming inevitable.

We are at a critical juncture now and must swallow our pride to ask for your help to keep Sound Check alive.

The target for this campaign is set at an amount we believe to be sufficient to cover our immediate needs as well as to allow us to continue to grow to self-sustained profitability. It is not an insignificant amount, but every contribution brings us closer to keeping our dream alive. Further, we will gladly entertain alternative offers of financial assistance (e.g. private party loans or potential equity investment) to help us achieve our goal.

We need immediate financial assistance to keep our doors open.

The decision to ask our family, our friends, our valued customers, the music community and general public for help is not easy for us, but at this point our backs are up against a wall and we do not wish for our venture to fail due to pride.
