SOS: Puerto Rico Medical Relief

The devastation in Puerto Rico due to the hurricanes has been tremendous. One month after the disaster, most people lack the basic neccessities of modern life. But the medical need is even worse. In the devastated towns and hamlets of the central mountain range, as well as the south of the island, the medical needs are immense. Poeple are lacking basic health care. There are infections propagating, diarrheal diseases, lots of pain, and lots of stress and trauma as a result of this catastrophe. 

I have organized a medical relief mission with teams from Miami and teams of health care volunteers from the island who are already working on the ground. While the logistics of our missions are complex, the objective is straight forward: to bring medical care and attention directly to the affected people. 

We are bringing doctors with various specialties, mental health professionals, and the global organization: Acupuncturists Without Borders. We're also bringing a significant amount of medicines and medical supplies. Our goal is to directly evaluate and treat as many people as possible once our teams reach the most devastated areas where these people live. We are preparing to maintain this mission for as long as neccessary until the situation stabilizes.

Time is of the essence. We are aiming to make our first staging and flying to Puerto Rico with all our volunteers and supplies by November 10th.
