Sophie's Make-A-Wish Trip

Hello Friends & Family,
My 5-year old cousin Sophie was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) at three months old, and as a result, has over 40 benign tumors in her brain, multiple in each kidney, and experiences several seizures per week, despite the brain surgery she underwent when she was 2 years old. Also as a result of her illness, Sophie is autistic and developmentally at an 18-month level.
We’re excited to finally announce that sweet little Sophie is being granted a one-week vacation to Disney World in July, thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation! The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to granting the special wishes of children between 2 1/2 and 18 years of age who suffer from life-threatening illnesses. Wishes are granted expense-free to only the immediate family of the child.
Sophie and I are very close. I’ve traveled to be by her side during some trying times, including her brain surgery and recent hospitalization due to a very severe case of pneumonia. I also visit with her every summer. I know she would want me there for her upcoming trip as well.
I would love to be able to take advantage of my opportunity to join her on this trip of a lifetime – thankfully, I’ll be able to stay at Disney’s Give Kids the World Village with Sophie at no cost, but unfortunately, the foundation will not pay for any of my expenses because I’m not immediate family. All of the money I’m hoping to raise will go towards my flights, daily park passes, meals, etc. and would allow me to share this very memorable experience with Sophie.
