Sophie's Hospital Fund

Sophie the Mastiff is a 7ish-year old rescue dog from Maine who loves the woods, the ocean, eating, and snuggling. Unfortunately, she can't enjoy any of those things right now :( Sophie has been sick for the past few days and had landed herself in the emergency animal hospital. 

After not being able to eat for several days, she got very sick with vomiting and diarrhea. She's lost 16 pounds and as you can see from the photos, is pretty miserable. She is staying overnight in the hospital to be monitored, given IV fluids, and pain medication.  Tomorrow she will get an ultrasound to determine if she needs emergency surgery.  They are also going to test for other potential issues, as blood test results came back with low levels of red blood counts and electrolytes.  The vet care she is receiving is top notch, but comes with top notch price tags, too. After first visiting the local vet and then being recommended to the emergency vet, we've already spent $900 today with an estimate of an additional $2,700 for what might be needed. 

Although we know that this is the holiday season which can come with extra costs, we hope you might have a few dollars to share with Sophie to help pay for these unexpected vet bills. Any additional money raised will be donated to a fund that helps pay for vet bills for other pets in need. 

Sophie is the sweetest, derpiest derp that fills our hearts with snuggles and love every day. She means so much to me, and we would be unbelievably grateful for any help you are able to give.
