I am a Children's Nursing student at the University of Chester, going into my second year. Within my second academic year I have been presented with the once in a lifetime opportunity to go on an elective placement to work on the children's ward of a local hospital. This will be a 3 week long placement in July 2020.
This is fantastic opportunity for me to developed greater experience in healthcare in a underpriviledged country compared to the healthcare system we have in UK. I will be volunteering my time with the children in hospitals who are underprivileged and who have a lack of resource which effect their nursing practice.
I will be working with the amazing 'Work the World' internship to help me on my journey their website can be viewed via the link below.I will also have the opportunity to see first hand a range of healthcare conditions and treatment that I would not be able to experience within the UK. This massive learning curve that I am so excited to experience that will contribute to my development, learning and competence as a Children's Nurse.
As you would expect, such a trip and amazing opportunity comes at a price, which unfortunately, as a student, I cannot afford through student finance. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read about my fundraiser and for any support you may be able to offer. I understand not everyone is in a situation financially where they may be able to donate, so even a share on one of your social media feeds or by word of mouth is much appreciated.
