The Wilderness Forge Challenge
It is not just the soldier who dies, but even the dreams of his children become casualties. The Wilderness Forge Challenge reaches young men who lost their dads in the war on terror and helps them to dream and believe in themselves. Our next challenge is a one month adventure of survival, fishing, and floating across Alaska. Boys are wired for adventure. You can see it in their play, desiring to be the hero, the one who overcomes great adversity. But, truly it is the father who shows his son that he has what it takes. But, for these young men there is no man to which they can turn. I have been doing this type of trip for young men since 1998. I am a former Green Beret and the President of The Wilderness Forge Challenge. Your donations will enable us to take these young men on an adventure of a lifetime. Any excess funds will be used to take young men who lost their dads in combat on another great adventure. The young men depart July 14 and we are currently purchasing the needed equipment that we do not already possess, so we need the funds immediately. Their fathers died for us to live in freedom. Therefore, I believe it is our responsibility to help their kids.
