On the 4th of November Ms. SonJa LuJan Portillo fell asleep in death in the arms of her beloved son, Julian.
For all of you who knew Ms. SonJa, you know she wore her heart on her sleeve and was a generous and caring woman. She was a person that loved to give and ask nothing in return. Her faith in Christ was everlasting until her last breath and she was a believer in the Word which states:
Proverbs 19:17 KJV He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Ms. SonJa is survived by her only son Julian, daughter-in-law Nicole, and 4 grandchildren, as well as her mother and brother. Julian will be laying his mother to rest this Saturday. As we all know, funeral expenses can add up, not only will Julian be carrying the burden of laying his mother to rest on his heart, but he will also be responsible for the expenses that come with it. As one of his closest friends, I would like to help carry this burden with him. If any have it in their hearts to do the same, it will be greatly appreciated.
2 Corinthians 9:7 Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
