Sons of Justin Hanks Scholarship
GoFundMe has (appropriately, I think) asked that I share additional information on this campaign. Admittedly, the initial post clearly assumed that everyone involved was familiar with Justin's story and why I was starting this campaign.
I am Justin Hanks' father-in-law, Rulon Stacey. I currently live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. However, I used to live in Fort Collins, Colorado where Jennifer and Justin met and fell in love. Shortly after Justin's passing we (Jennifer, (Justin's wife and my daughter), my wife Linda, and Mitch and Lynette Hanks, Justin's parents) were approached by many people asking if they could offer support. After she discussion among the five of us we elected to start a GoFundMe page for the sole purpose of raising money for the education of Justin and Jennifer's twin boys, born on April 10, 2018.
To that end, Jennifer and Mitch and Lynette and Linda and I decided that this was an appropriate way to allow people to help. So, we started this fund. One hundred percent of the money raised will be put into a fund which will not be withdrawn until the boys go to school. I have approached Merrill Financial Associates in Provo, Utah ( http://www.merrillfinancialassociates.com) to create this fund. The fund has been created now for a few weeks awaiting withdrawals from GoFundMe. The process will be that the money from GoFundMe will be deposited into my checking account, and I will then forward to Merrill Financial Associates two checks (each one representing one-half the fund). I will post a copy of the deposit slip when that transfer occurs to ensure that the process is transparent. The fund will then be in Jennifer's name, assigned to each of the boys, and outside of my control. As described above, it will only be used to provide for the college educations of the Sons of Justin Hanks.
Your support has been unbelievable. As it stands now, if we 1/2 of the current fund for Everett and Marshal, by the time they are 18 there will be enough to support them through all of their college. Thank you so much for helping us through such a difficult time. Your generosity has been breathtaking.

I wanted to give you all an update on the process of the fund. On behalf of Jennifer and the boys, please let me thank you for your amazing support of this scholarship fund. I promised to give you some specifics. As of today (August 12, 2018) we have received 24 separate deposits from GoFundMe totally $16,694.38 (love for someone from GoFundMe to check my math!! :) :) ). So, today I forward to Merrill Financial Associates in Provo two checks. Each check is for $8,347.19. As I mentioned before, each fund is owned by Jennifer, but designated for Everett and Marshal uniquely, and listed in each of their names. I will update you all when the checks have been cashed and the funds transferred. Thank you again for your support and love. Your support has truly been breathtaking!!!

P.S. Not sure how this picture will turn out...but I was watching the boys and stepped out of the room for a minute to grab something and asked their cousin, Adelyn, to watch them. When I came back in the room...this is what I found!!! :) :)
