SOMOS VECINOS: Puerto Rico Relief
Donation protected
¡SOMOS VECINOS! Promoting Youth and Community Action for Puerto Rico!
Clean water, sanitation, education and quality of life are basic human rights! Precollege participants in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee "Quest Project" and members of the La Causa Charter School community raised awareness of water security, an adequate standard of living, education, and personal freedoms as basic human rights for all and delivered several hundred water filtration systems to schools and families in Puerto Rico in March and May/June this year.
Our current priority is raising funds for the provision of school supplies, educational materials, school uniforms, hygiene products and other items identified as being of greatest need for children and families in Puerto Rico impacted by Hurricane Maria. To this end, we will travel back to the island in the Fall and continue to collaborate with Operation Blessing and to work with schools and commuities with which we have developed relationships. These communities are located in Utuado, Dorado, Dos Bocas, Camuy and Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
100% of all donations will go directly to the students and families with whom we work. All travel costs and personal expenses are absorbed by the volunteers who travel to deliver relief and donated materials.
Please help us to assist our friends and global neighbors in Puerto Rico. Your contribution will make a difference to students and families still impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Maria.
