Some Help For Mark

Our friend and outstanding musician, Mark Kieswetter, has been a key member of the Canadian music scene since he first moved to Toronto. He's been a friend, collaborator, mentor, and supporter of so many musicians and members of the music community as a whole.
An exceptionally rare illness (Mark is the only known person dealing with this) has disallowed Mark from working for almost 2 years. Not only has this affected his ability to create the music that he loves with his beloved colleagues, it has also seriously impeded his ability to make a living.
Mark is awaiting results of an immigration application on a humanitarian basis, so his medical coverage has also been affected. Because his condition is so rare, doctors and specialists are viewing it as a sort of research case. However, many of the costs of treatment are not covered. Along with this, Mark is dealing with day to day living costs, all while not being able to work and provide himself with the same income he could were he not sick.
If you are a musician or a music fan, you know Mark's contributions to the Canadian Jazz scene. If you are one of his colleagues, or a member of the church community where he was Music Director, you've no doubt experienced the hole that's been left in his absence. If you are simply a person with compassion and empathy, you can surely appreciate the struggles that go along with the inability to work when dealing with illness.
Either way, we ask for your help for our friend, Mark. Every little bit helps, as does sharing this and allowing those who would like to help Mark to do so.
