Phase II, SOFK9 Memorial Foundation

$3,565 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 48 people in 35 months

GREAT NEWS!

Our original GoFundMe account* was created to raise funds to complete Phase III of the SOF K9 Memorial, which will be an indoor diorama in the Airborne and Special Operations Museum honoring the dogs and handlers.  The ASOM has agreed to fund the remainder of Phase III.

This is great news, as we needed another 20-30K to meet our goal.  The exhibit will display both the dogs in action and in retirement, ultimately showing the love and bond between dog and handler.  It will have some of the original kit developed by SOF handlers and their evolution to modern day kit.

If you are a SOF handler or have access to genuine SOF artifacts, please contact Denise Wald at the ASOM:  910-643-2769 or via email Denise.m.wald.civ@mail.mil.  Please note this request is not for all working dogs, such as civilian or conventional working dogs.  The memorabilia must be from SFG, Rangers, MARSOC, AFSOC, USASOC, Tier 1 elements or other SOF programs.  Thank you for honoring this request.

We are going to keep our GFM account open to continue Phase II, which is raises money to support SOF handlers with home station memorials of their dogs (portraits, pavers, etc).  Sometimes these memorials can cost upwards of $500 to $1000 per dog, which is bore by the handler and/or his teammates.

We are the sole Special Operations Forces K9 Memorial in existence, a nationally recognized, Non-Profit 501c(3) whose sole mission is to recognize SOF dogs killed in action.

Thank you for your ongoing support,
The SOF K9 Memorial Foundation Team
