Refugee Children Sports Activities

Donation protected
Glasgow Caring City (SC029090) and our partners in the Caring City Network, along with private donors and sponors, aim to deliver sports coaching workshops for refugee children in Idomeni, Northern Greece.

Children have the right to play. That right is constituted by the United Nations Childrens Rights Charter. Every child no matter their status or circumstance should be free to play, make friends and have fun.

Our aim is to ensure that refugee children, fleeing the harshest of circumstances in Syria and other places, will be able to play, laugh and have fun. Our sports coaches (Stefan Schmid and Andy Cruickshank) will be in Idomeni, Greece from April providing fun sports activities in the temporary refugee camps along the Macedonian border.

Each day, around 200 children will have access to play sessions featuring a variety of sports and games, as well as free fruit, water and additional support mechanisms.

Back our bid to deliver these sessions. Each day will cost us around £116 to deliver. Can you fund one day of activities? No matter what you can contribute, everything will directly help. It is essential that we return the rights of children to play, have fun and associate with other children.

Thank you.
