Smokey Bear Needs a New Smile
Donation protected
I received some very upsetting news at my babies’ vet visit yesterday. Smokey Bear needs almost $2500 worth of dental work. He has a dental disease and needs several of his rotting teeth removed & x-rays to make sure nothing is infected. Any money I receive will go towards blood work, x-rays, the procedure, and post-op care.
I took Smokey in just under a year ago. A co-worker sent out an email saying her client had passed away and her sweet kitty needed a home ASAP. The story broke my heart. Another co-worker and I decided we were going to pick him up. No plan, but we knew we had to find him a home. We walked into the apartment, looked around, called his name, just to find him staring us right in the face on a shelf. He looked so scared, but I think he knew we wanted to help. We took him to the vet and other than a lot of matted fur, he was healthy. He’s an older gentleman, between 10-11 years old. The thought of not having him in my life is heart wrenching. Anything I can do to keep him with me for as long as possible, I’ll do it. And that includes asking kind strangers, friends, and family for money. Smokey and Tonks are my world. I would do anything for them.
I cried far more than I'd like to admit when I saw the vet's bill estimate. The vet tech saw my tears and her eyes started swelling up. My vet treats my kitties so well, I don't trust another to take such amazing care of Smokey for this procedure. Anything you can donate will help me considerably, even just $1. If you can't donate, even sharing would be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Alyssa
