Dear friends of Jim and Cindy Slurff,
Last night my aunt and uncle lost everything in a tragic house fire, including 3 beloved pets. One person was home at the time when the fire began. Briana, their daughter was upstairs when she started to smell smoke, when she realized the house was on fire she ran outside with only the clothes on her back. She was able to save their dog miley on the way out. She ran back inside to try and find the other animals but by that time between the heat and the smoke she was unable to find the other animals safely. Sparky their dog, and their 2 cats twiggy and Mr. B did not make it out.
Everything was lost in the fire, even with the quick response from the local fire departments, nothing could be saved. The investigators say it was an electrical fire from an extension cord they had in their sunroom. They'vd lived in their beautiful home for 23 years, 23 years of memories, holidays, and family gatherings taken from them in a blink of an eye.
Jim and Cindy Slurff are wonderful people who have always given back to their community. When hurricane Sandy hit they donated not only their time but bought many essentials like toothbrushes, toothpaste, food, water, etc. anything that the people who had lost their homes in the floods needed, and spent hours helping the local families that were affected. Jim also volunteers for the shalmont school district teaching economics and has been doing so for many years.
So to all the friends of Jim and Cindy Slurff along with anyone from their community that has been touched by their generous, kind, and beautiful hearts, please donate to the Slurff Family Fire Relief Fund so they can rebuild thier lives after this devastating loss.
