Slovak Music Dissertation

I am a doctoral student trying to complete my degree and raise 7 children at the same time. I am hoping to raise funds that would aid in my dissertation research on Slovak Choral Music.

I lived in Slovakia for 15 1/2 months from 1997-98. I learned to love the language, the culture, and the people. As I have continued my music studies, I have been drawn to learning about the music of Slovakia - especially the choral music.

I would like to travel to Slovakia for 2 weeks in September 2018 to aid in research for my dissertation. I am researching Slovak choral music and need to get to Martin, Slovakia to view some manuscripts held at the Matica Slovenska. These manuscripts contain Slovak folk songs collected by Bartók in the early 20th century. The melodies collected by Bartók create a link to the modern choral music from Slovak composers.
