SLAM Radio was a staple of the KC music scene for a test run of 60 days, but didn't stop for 3 years before it went dark. We are ready to bring it back. It turned out to be more popular than we ever dreamed.
The whole purpose of SLAM Radio is to support launching artists and musicians (unsigned) in an unconventional way not found anywhere else.
While it is an internet station it is very unique in its style. Interviews, performances, live shows, nationally known recording artists appearing, award shows, and so much more to help people discover the music of tomorrow. Promoting artists of all genres and styles is the core of what we do.
All staff of the station are volunteers. Nobody draws a check from the station. All of the funds we get are put back into various things to help the music community and to fund expenses the station has. We all do it for the love of music.
We need help to bring it back. All of the equipment is very outdated and a new broadcast studio needs to be built. The cost of everything is daunting. We have raised private funds to cover some of what we need, but we need help to raise the rest.
This station is more than just another stream on the net. It represents a community and it's staff are part of that community. It helps promote those "starving artists" to get even a touch of recognition. It gives those artists a voice, and a place for people not familiar with the music community a view of talents they won't hear anywhere else. It's a home to find your next favorite artists and a place musicians can display their talents and achieve new fans.
We ask for your financial support to help us build it again and get it launched. Day to day expenses after launch we know how to cover. We will even pull from our own pockets, but the startup is where we are struggling. $1 or $100, every single dollar raised will go to building a high quality studio and its contents. If we raise more than anticipated the money over the costs will be used to find new ways to promote artists.
