It is with a very heavy heart, I write this about my brother Joe.
My brother was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in August of 2018. Joe was blessed and bravely went through a 9 1/2 hour Whipple procedure, and shortly after that started undergoing aggressive chemotherapy. Joe received treatment at both St. Peters Cancer Care and Memorial Sloan Kettering.
Joe showed amazing strength, courage, and hope as he went through 12 rounds of chemo. Joe continued to work for the New York State Liquor Authority between rounds of chemotherapy and doctor appointments.
Joe, for the past 9 months has been in the fight of his life battling cancer. My brother is a VERY Humble and Discreet individual. He had hope to keep this private but circumstances have changed.
As a Family we were very hopefull that Joe would begin to gain strength and the darker days were behind him, unfortunately that has not been the case.
We recently found out the Joe's pancreatic cancer has metastasized to his stomach lining. Even with these recent set backs to Joe's health he continues to be a fighter.
As of April 29th 2019 Joe is no longer able to work. This puts a huge stress and strain on him. He is the sole income for his house hold. Joe's main focus at this point is to handle is next round of chemotherapy.
For anyone that knows my brother on a personnel level knows that he has always been a giving person who has a heart for those who struggle. Over the years has put the needs of his family, friends and loved ones first. It's now our turn to give back to Joe. There are so many people that have asked how they can help. Aat this point we know that the bills are going to start piling up.
100% of all monies raised will be given to Joe's medical and household/living expenses.
