The Firo Fund

Donation protected
This is Firo. He was born July 31st, 2012 in Westfield, MA where we adopted him from a shelter. He is the sweetest kitty that loves to play and cuddle with his older step-brother Maiza, get belly rubs and hang out on your shoulder.

In the past two months he's developed struvite bladder stones. Because they are so large and in a male cat (who have much narrower urethras), they cannot be simply dissolved or passed.

Unfortunately, my partner and I have been struggling for months to get back on our feet. We're working temp jobs while seeking more gainful employment and recovering from me being out of work for three months. With our inability to pay back our student loans our credit is too poor to be approved for Carecredit. We have no further options and do not have a car or money to try and take him to yet another veterinarian who might be able to offer other payment plans.

Firo is suffering. He's urinating blood, and less and less and soon he could be facing renal failure and death. If we took him to the hospital now, the only thing they can offer us is euthanization.

He's a wonderful companion that we love as our family member and we don't want to lose him. We need help.  The surgery will cost us around $2,500.

With a tiny bit of help from a lot of people, we can save him.
