Help for the Heart

Donation protected
My dad Damon was diagnosed with heart disease 13 years ago. Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome (WPW)was the diagnosis. After being evaluated by several doctors; the best course of action was an ablation. The ablation wasn’t effective. After consulting with several cardiologist and a cardiophysiologist it was decided that it was time for a  defibrillator. The surgery was done and the initial  defibrillator  did well for 8 years. On a routine visit it was discovered that the battery was low and a recall was on the initial device. With that being said; the initial  defibrillator  had to be removed and a second one inserted in June 2015. The surgery was successful and Damon did very well.
Fast forward; Damon ended 2016 and started 2017 in St Agnes Hospital due to bronchitis. Bronchitis would be the diagnosis for the next year and a half. After multiple doctors appointments, urgent care visits , cardiologist appointments and hospital stays;Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)surfaced.Damon was diagnosed with CHF in the summer of 2018.Breathing became difficult on a regular basis and daily activities were exhausting. On every doctors visit medications were adjusted.
From October to November 2018 Damon visited urgent care 3 times and the ER twice. In December things really got worse; the urgent care visits were more frequent  and a hospital stay. On December 20,2018 my families lives would change. The cardiologist diagnosed Damon with end stage heart disease. His ejection fraction was 10%( the amount of blood being pumped out of heart to the body)
It was time for some fast intervention. Damon was scheduled to see a CHF specialist, but that wouldn’t be until January. What a long time to wait. Finally appointment day; lots of information to take in. Several  test were scheduled and performed. Those test results; would result in a 6 day hospital stay. Damon was discharged home with a PIC line and a continuos drip of medication. This medication would help his heart pump better. This is only a temporary fix.
Damon will be receiving a LVAD (heart pump ) in March until he is able to receive a heart transplant. This is major open heart surgery; that will require an extended hospital stay. Damon has been out of work since December 20,2018. My family and I are asking all of our family, friends, associates, neighbors and anyone else to donate. Any and all donations are appreciated. All donations will be used to off set Co-pays, medical expenses and other necessary medical equipment Damon will need after surgery. Thank you for your love, prayers and support during our families new journey.
