The Island
- St. Helenians have been unfairly represented in international press
- On-Island media is lacking in proper coverage, affecting the democratic process
- The two major news outlets are majorly funded either by the government or a political British Lord
- This unique island is experiencing a unique crossroads of digital globalization, implementing air transportation, employment gaps, colonially structured government and culture.
We took a chance, a bold move at 23, to move to one of the most remote communities in the world that is still being run largely by UK lawmakers overseas.
The citizens of St. Helena need a voice. Help us give them one.
We believe in this so much, we dropped everything we had in the U.S. to pursue essential community journalism. Join us by becoming a sponsor.
