Dushan Mitrovich of Maui Needs Our Ohana's Help

Aloha, Friends,
I am putting together a GoFundMe team to help my great friend, Dushan Mitrovich.... some of you know as "Shaughn" on Maui. This is a very troubling time medically, legally, and financially for him. This campaign will help prolong his life and provide care now for his 6 year-old daughter, Sophia. He is a great friend from childhood as we both share the same hometown of San Diego. He is California grown with Hawaiian/Mauian roots of 12 years. His generosity is well-known to those who known him here and on the mainland.
He is one of only 3000 cases of Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia in the United States; only 1 of 2 cases on Maui. It is similar to leukemia except his bone marrow produces red blood cells which are destroyed immediatey when entering his blood stream. Only IV chemotherapy helps. Through this, he then became insulin-dependent for Type II diabetes. And now, as he recenty found out, he battles severe diabetic peripheral neuropathy. This keeps him in constant pain, not able to work now and increases the demands on his family and friends that help him live and take care of his 6 year-old daughter during this crisis.
For single fathers here in Hawaii, there is no greater advocate than Dushan. He put his hand in fire for men who want to be a part of their children's lives by improving their rights in the family court system. On Maui, so many single fathers do not have anywhere to turn or do not have the resources. Strong fathers make the difference in their (our) children's lives and our "Ohana". His legal bills forced him to become "attorney pro se". With that and his medical and transportation issues, it takes a vaunted effort now to keep going at the high-level that he performs. He is a sober father and declined opioids for his pain management
In sum, Dushan needs our help; financially and other professional services offered. His situation needs our attention NOW; this is an opportunity to assist a member of our "Ohana" for who helped so many through his pro bono computer work, his Rotary club, his English tutoring, his ability to extend a welcoming hand to the newcomer... to our community, to our island.
As Dushan cannot work at this time, funds will be used to pay his and his daugher's current living expenses, and his medical, transportation and legal bills. Please give anonymously and share with those that know him and love him and Sophia Jewell.
