Hurricane Florence First Responder needs OUR help!

While Matthew Scott's two boys were sound asleep inside the safety of the Faison, NC fire department where he volunteers, this single dad was working 18-24hr shifts for days on end rescuing stranded victims of Hurricane Florence.  It wasn't until five days later that he was able to wade through the water and debris of their flooded town to see in what condition Florence had left their home. 

His well pump was destroyed, and siding he'd just installed himself was stripped from their home.  Two deep freezers, and the food inside he'd stored away for his boys were a complete loss.  His driveway was rendered impassable by the relentless washing floodwaters.  To make matters worse, the damage sustained throughout the town they call home will result in weeks of lost work, and subsequently, his income.   

Being a single dad, Matthew struggled at times to make ends meet even before the storm.  He was not able to afford insurance for his home prior to the storm.  He works tirelessly to provide a warm home, full bellies, and opportunities for his children.  He even manages to carve out time to coach little league soccer, baseball, and football.    

Thoughts and prayers are wonderful, and effective.   But, perhaps you're willing to take an additional practical step to help.  Matthew makes it his business to help others, when he himself is in dire need.  Please consider donating to help this sweet family recover from this tragedy.
