Simply, it’s for Missy

Tell my story... it’s not really my story but one I choose to be a part of. If you’re lucky you have that one friend that’s been with you throughout every major life event you’ve ever had. The one friend that knows every secret, every part of your history, every heartache, every tear you’ve cried and why. This campaign is for that friend that has been a part of my life for the past 18 years. 
       Missy is a mother to a wonderful 9 year old boy named Gino and a loving wife to her husband Mike. When she’s not taking care of her family and raising her son she’s taking care of our elderly that need a lot of patience, love, and care. Missy is the lead caretaker of the dementia and Alzheimer’s unit at a local nursing home. She spends most of her day going along with whatever memory her patients may be experiencing that day and making them feel cared for and important. She’s their daughter, their mom, their cousin or sister, whatever her patient needs her to be so that their day can be a little brighter. I envy her love for her job as she has dedicated her life and her career to care for others. 
      Now it’s our turn to take care of Missy. She has been diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. This type of breast cancer is very aggressive and she will be undergoing chemo therapy, a mastectomy, and radiation treatment over the course of a year. Unfortunately, the health coverage offered by Missy’s employer only covers preventative  care and she needs our help. This fundraiser, just as the title says is simply for Missy. It’s so she can get started on her treatments. Anything helps, $1, $5, or $10, whatever you are able to offer. Thank you for your generosity!
